You’ll be thrilled to know
That I pledge allegiance
To your wild consumerist howl

I promise to defend it
As a mother would a child
Beyond the bounds of reason
And above all sense of self

I’ll thrive in an environment
Where the common man
Sides with his oppressor
Against his own brethren

No boot too dirty too be licked
And no misdeed too foul
I’ll watch the guards beat down my friends
And give out points for style

Dear think tank
It’s been quite a while
I’ve lost a few fake friends now
But I’ve never had such zeal

I see this generation
And I am filled with rage
Permissive, weak and indolent
Not like back in my day

And now our vote no longer counts
Such things beyond our ken
it’s fine that you hold all the cards
The world needs stronger rule

We’ll make it like it was before
When men were really men
And handmaid wives, so dignified
Lived lives of humble thrall

Dear thinktank
I’ve been trying to get through
You should hear the things they’re saying
Is any of it true?

The day the taps stopped working
And all the lights went out
I watched the fires sweep down my street
And thanked god for my faith

The folk these days have no respect
See how they bitch and moan
And how quick they are to violence
When things don’t go their way

And now I am so old and scared
Such anger in the young!
You always were so good at this
Please won’t you send someone?
